Typical applications include protection of aircraft hangars and high-hazard, hazardous materials storage facilities. They are also used to protect liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities.

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) absorbs heat from the surrounding environment and forms a vapor cloud that is difficult to control or suppress by traditional fire suppression methods. Using high expansion foam helps to block the heat due to convection and thermal radiation.
