Foam agent for lightweight concrete price is an important part of the manufacturing process of foamed concrete. It affects the density, porosity, stability, fluidity and strength of the foamed concrete.
The foaming agents used in the production of foam concrete are synthetic, glue resins, detergents, resin soap, saponin, and hydrolyzed protein based [1,3,57]. Synthetic based foaming agents increase the fluidity of foamed concrete. However, they can also cause the particles to bleed and segregate.
Protein based foaming agents increase the compressive strength of foamed concrete and stabilize the air-void network. They also provide a homogeneous coating on each bubble and prevent blisters from coalescing.
Using PVA fiber in foamed concrete helps to reduce the drying shrinkage of the concrete. The fibers entrap water in the foaming agent and retain it during the hydration process. It also helps to limit the change in foam size thereby reducing soot shrinkage.
The protein foaming agent also demonstrates better results in terms of compressive strength at higher densities. It possesses 13 % higher compressive strength as compared to the synthetic foaming agent at 1200 kg/m3 density.
The optimum compressive strength of the foamed concrete was obtained with cement sand ratio of 1:2 and water-cement (w/c) of 0.5. This composition has a compressive strength of 25.2 MPa with a density of 1822 kg/m3. It can be applied to produce lightweight structural concrete for a prefabricated house.
