The superplasticizer is a key ingredient in the building material concrete. It improves workability, consistency, open time, tack, bleeding, adhesion, air content and set time of concrete mixtures by lowering the water demand, but still providing high early strength. Fritz-Pak offers several strengths of superplasticizer formulations to fit your needs. For standard applications we offer Supercizer 1 and Supercizer 5, which increase the slump of a concrete mix by up to six inches while reducing the water demand by 20%. These products are great for small corrections of a mix on the job site.
For higher slumps we have our premium superplasticizers, Supercizer 2 and Supercizer 7. These are formulated to provide high early strengths while maintaining a low water requirement of up to 40%. These products are a great option when you need to change your concrete’s water content in the field for varying conditions such as weather, hauling and delays before discharging.
The invention relates to a co- or ter-polymer of carboxylic acid, sulfonic acid, phosphonic acid, an amide form thereof and a polyethylene glycol monoallyl ether sulfate that imparts excellent workability, consistency, appearance, open time and tack to concrete and other cementitious materials while lowering its water demand, without loss of fluidity or aeration. The invention also relates to a method for making such a superplasticizer and to the use of such a superplasticizer in cementitious construction materials. The molar ratio of the monomer repeating units c and d in the formula (i) can be adjusted to suit the application by changing the proportions of ethylene glycol monoallyl ester sulfate to that of ethylenically unsaturated monomers.
