KEM SUPLAST SMF L 10 is a high performance superplasticizer developed for RMCs & High Grade concrete. It provides excellent development of early strength & good slump retention at placing point.
The product is based on polycarboxylic ether polymer and sulphonated naphthalene formaldehyde. It has been manufactured to comply with IS 9103- 1999 type E and ASTM C 494-86 type G specifications.
Compared to conventional superplasticizers, the new polycarboxylic ether-based products have the advantage of being able to perform the plastification and water reduction functions, with high fluidity, in a wider range of cement-based materials. This makes them suitable for the preparation of USCBGM and other ultrafine sulfoaluminate cement-based grouting materials.
In addition, the sulfonated naphthalene-based compounds have the potential to be applied for automated slump management systems that can ensure slump retention throughout the entire delivery process. This can help reduce the cost of concrete production and increase quality control.
The rheological reactivity of the superplasticizer is mainly due to its adsorption on the surface of the cement particles and its binding with water. This is a complex and dynamic process, which is different for each stage of the system. The adsorption is a key factor for the hydration of the cement, and it also affects its flowability, hardening, and shrinkage.
